Responsive Eminent Domain Defense

About The Law Office Of Robert A. Schreiber

I am Robert A. Schreiber, an eminent domain and real estate attorney located in Miami, Florida. Since entering the legal field in the 1980s, I have worked tirelessly to defend the rights of Florida property owners and establish myself as one of the state’s premier litigators in eminent domain law.

I began my legal career at the Florida State University School of Law, where I was named the Best Oral Advocate at the 1986 Robert Orseck Moot Court Competition for all Florida law schools.

After graduating with honors in 1987, I joined the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) as the chief of eminent domain litigation for Miami Dade and Monroe counties. I served as lead counsel in numerous eminent domain jury trials that resulted in favorable verdicts for the FDOT.

My Profile: Robert A. Schreiber Esq.

A Reputation For Success

In private practice since 1992 and as a solo practitioner since 2015, I have obtained favorable verdicts in many high-profile eminent domain cases in Florida, including:

  • A $1 million award for a case in which the FDOT conducted a partial taking of industrial property that contained a food distribution site, initially offered at $200,000
  • An award of almost $1 million for submerged land that had been condemned by the government and valued at $1,000

In every case, my ongoing commitment is to defending the property rights of Florida residents. I have represented clients in government takings disputes worth more than $5 million and disputes worth less than $100,000. No matter how large the dispute or intimidating the government body, I handle each of my client’s cases personally, without the help of associates or paralegals.

My extensive experience and proficiency in eminent domain have made me one of Florida’s foremost authorities in this area of law. The FDOT regularly calls upon me to serve as an expert witness in eminent domain cases. I have appeared several times as the featured speaker in eminent domain continuing legal education (CLE) courses for attorneys, and I was selected to speak before the Appraisal Institute on the topic of cross-examination of experts during trials.

On many occasions, I have been retained by other attorneys to assist in eminent domain jury trials and related real estate litigation.
